My art quilts are a combination of design, colour and texture. In my work, I use a variety of materials: cotton, silk, paper and metal to create the designs I envision. Each piece is heavily quilted with hand stitching which gives it more depth and texture. The pieces are abstract, with a strong geometric base. Designs evolve as they are viewed during the creation process and, although a concept is in place when the work begins, it often takes on a life of its own. Colour plays a strong role in establishing the statement to be made by the individual piece. View the materials used, the lines your eye is drawn to -- let the work speak to you. |
